Day 23
Broccoli Cheddar Soup. Soo good and easy to make!

Day 24
My thread stash thanks to Jeanine!
24

Day 25
Cinnamon Roll Pancakes! Delicious and again easy to make.
25

Day 26
Shortbread Girl Scout Cookies. Probably my favorite next to Thin Mints, but I went with Shortbread this year.

Day 27
My newest sewing project! I am making a seat cover for the backseat of the car for Jadys. It will cover the whole backseat and clip on to the headrest creating a hammock type deal. This way we can put things on the floor in the backseat and it wont get covered in dog hair. We use a blanket now, but it’s a thick fleece material and is falling apart..not to mention hard to get the dog hair off. So this one is light weight and will be easy to wash to remove the dog hair. I’m pretty proud of it right now. I’m still not the straightest sower, however I’m still learning. I really like the fabric and I hope it stays pretty. haha So here it is after tonight’s work. I just sewed the 2 fabrics together. It took a long time because I’ve never worked with that much fabric…it’s time consuming to pin all that!
27
As you can see I’m not very good at corners. However, this is the first thing I’ve made with corners. haha

Here are my pictures from day 18-22nd. I don’t have today’s yet.

Day 18
This might not look yummy, but this is my favorite thing to make in the crock pot and it’s soooo good. It’s chicken and dumplings (and I add cheese to mine). P.S. I am so looking forward to the day when we can put new lighting in our kitchen. It makes it hard for a decent photo.
18

Day 19
My new favorite wine. Brown County Winery – Blackberry Wine. It’s really good!
19

Day 20
A view of our well cover as the snow comes down Friday afternoon. We received 4 inches in all by Saturday morning. Joel and I had an good time playing/shoveling Friday night with Jadys.
20

Day 21
This is Jadys’ friend behind us. Saturday morning he/she was running up and down the fence line looking and waiting for her friend Jadys to come out and “play” with her.
21

Day 22
I am not a fan of Kleenexes, so this weekend while I was sick I spent most of my day Sunday blowing my nose with toilet paper. haha weird picture I know.

I am not a fan of snow…as you already know. It mostly has to do with the cold temperatures and the shoveling. However, in my classroom I have two huge picture windows to see outside. On these picture windows are blinds that I can open and close like a regular blind or I can fully open them to see out of the whole window…again like most blinds. I always have them opened just so that you can see out the slits, except on days that it snows. There is something mesmerizing and calm about the snow to me. I guess because it is so quiet and can come without you even knowing it’s there. This morning we did a stress test for ISETP to make sure all the computers in our district could handle taking the test at the same time (every school had to take it in the same window of time). It started snowing right before the we set up for the test, so I opened my blinds fully and while the kids took the test I found myself just staring out the windows into the white swirling wind that snow creates as it comes down. I get so lost just staring at it, amazed at how there isn’t one snow flake that is the same and how there are millions of snowflakes out there. I am mesmerized at how not everyone in the building or even in Huntington knows it’s snowing. If you don’t have a window in your room or office, you would never know. Then I think of how something so silent and spectacular can be so dangerous and a nuisance at the same time.

I am a big fan of Shel Silverstein, and I wanted to share this poem with you. It’s a humorous poem called Snowball.
Snowball
by Shel Silverstein
I made myself a snow ball as perfect as could be.
I thought I’d keep it as a pet and let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas and a pillow for it’s head.
Then, last night it ran away.
But first — it wet the bed.

I am finding it hard to post a picture a day. I can take a picture a day, but to find the time to upload it to flickr and then post it on here a little harder. So, I might do multiple days on one post. Anyway…

Day 12:Some of the stitches my machine can do.

Day 13:My view from my spot on the couch Friday Night
13

Day 14: The first thing I made with my machine. Lauren gave me some practice fabric and Saturday evening I sewed while she knitted and the guys did their thing. Good night!

The other side…it’s reversible

Day 15: The top of my desk that Joel made me!

Another view of it…the drawers are not all the way done, so that will be another day. (:

We still have some rearranging to do in the office ha

Day 16:I didn’t feel so good on Sunday, so Monday I spent like half the day just laying in bed. It felt so good to just be in bed until noon. Not really sleeping but just being lazy. Don’t worry I cleaned the house and then went to Zumba after I got out of bed…it wasn’t as total lazy day.

Day 17: Just some Reds things that I got for Christmas. First Reds hand towels for the bathroom from my aunt.
17

and my Reds snow man from my mom as my $5 gift. He’s cute

I have my pictures for this week, just haven’t had the chance to post them. Hopefully I will get them on tonight after zumba.

Christmas break went super-fast. I think we had something going on every night, which is rare for break. Tuesday the 21st (I believe), we went to Joel’s bosses house for his work Christmas party. Always a good time and always good food. Wednesday was supposed to be our last day at school, however the “fog monster” came and we ended up being closed. I was perfectly ok with this because I got an extra day of break! I also got everything packed and finished making things before we headed to my parents’ house. There would have been no way I would have been ready to leave on Thursday had it not been for that day off.

Thursday we traveled, with Jadys, to my parents’ house. I love going a few days before Christmas Eve because if we go the day before or that day, it just seems so rushed. So Thursday we headed to my parents, mom and I finished wrapping presents and watched home movies, and had some Skyline (a must have when I go home). Friday, we went to the park (warm day for December), and later went and saw Arthur Christmas in 3D. It was cute and really funny. I am definitely going to have to make it part of my Christmas movies that I watch in December every year. Had dinner and then my mom and I made our food for Christmas Eve while Joel, Drew, Ashley, and my Dad played cards.

Christmas Eve! We went to my Aunts like always. Had good food, ladies opened $5 gifts, played some games, ate some more, and finished the night with presents. It sounds like I am belittling the day by putting it in a list, but it was a great day..see pictures below.

Christmas Morning! We opened our presents, had breakfast, and packed up the car. I hate when it’s all over and having to say goodbye. We then headed home to drop off some stuff and Jadys, and then it was back in the car to head to Joel’s parents. Drew and Becca were in Penn. and Jack was in Chicago, so we just had dinner and opened our stockings. We all came back on the 28th to open presents. Another good time and good food.

New Years was ok. We had some friends at our place, and I always let the stress of hosting get the best of me. It was originally going to be us and our friends Zac and Lauren (which is no problem hosting wise), but we had some other friends come as well (which was fine, just wasn’t set for it…I’m not some weirdo when it comes to hosting, I just worry about entertaining people and since this is actually our house I care about it more than rentals we have had in the past). So needless to say by the time midnight hit I wasn’t having any fun. Not on accord to my friends…it was my own doing.

However, New Year’s day was much better. In fact, it was a great way to start the New Year. Joel and I slept in, had pancakes, played Minecraft for a few hours, and then moved to the living room to watch “How I Met Your Mother” the rest of the day. I have to admit, the show is getting better…it’s just not as funny as most people say it is.

The rest of break, we hung out with friends and are now back to the old routine. I’m at work at the moment, but I will post pictures of Christmas when I get home. Have a good rest of the day!

I didn’t get to post my day 5 picture yesterday, so here is my day 5 and later I’ll post day 6.

I did not take this picture. On my way to work yesterday, I wished I had my camera with me because the sky was just amazing. When I got home, someone had posted this picture on facebook so I took it to post it. It was truly was beautiful.

Day 4 has 2 pictures. I started Zumba today, and before I left I took a picture with Jadys and Kitty. Given it was just me and trying to hold 2 animals still for a picture can get tricky, so there are 2 photos.

I’ll try not to make the majority of my 365(I suppose it will be 366 because of Leap Year) pictures my animals (:
