Well, well, well. Actually got to sit down and update on Saturday, like I wanted to! I hate saying that we have been busy, because I feel like that is an excuse…but we have had a full 2 past weekends. Nothing to do with work, just hanging out and enjoying the end of summer. Ha, I don’t feel like I had a summer, but nothing I can do about that.

Going back 2 weekends ago to the 31st of July. Joel and I, plus Jon, Caddie, and Nic packed up and headed to Cincinnati for a Reds game and to spend time with my family. If you know me, you know I love the Reds…MY Reds as I like to say. It was a bobble head game, which makes it even better. It was a really hot Saturday, and we were in the bleachers for the game, I might have been the only one who didn’t seem to care lol. My Reds were down 2-0 in the first and I was just really hoping that we would get to see a good game. The Reds prevailed and in the 7th inning, totally rocked it. Hannigan ended up producing a 3 run in the park HR, or it might have been 4. Either way, we ended up winning 5-2, to put us back in 1st place in the NL Central! Needless to say I was a happy camper. After the game, we went back to my Aunt’s house and had pizza with my parents, sister, sisters boyfriend, Aunt and Uncle, We also had a corn hole tourney. We stayed at my Aunts and had breakfast with them in the morning. On our way back home, we had lunch with my Parents, sister, and Drew. I really enjoyed the visit home to spend time with my family, and of course a Reds game while there.

Last weekend we were in Greensburg for Bre and Tom’s Wedding. I was one of the Bridesmaids. We went down Friday for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, and then stayed Saturday after the Wedding. It was good to see friends from college, and just to enjoy a wedding instead of making sure everything went ok.

Sunday on the way home from the wedding, we had lunch with Joel’s family. We got to spend time with Joel’s family that live in Illinois. Here are some pictures from that.

I use to blog constantly, in college that is. There just isn’t much to blog about every day, because all I seem to do is work, run, be a wife, and sleep. Mind you I like all those things…well maybe not always work. But not the point. Anyway, all that to be said, I plan to blog more AND try not bore you (:

We are starting to slow down at work. Not very many seniors coming in over the summer, which I enjoy the down time because once it picks back up there is no stopping. My boss has said a few times that on days there is not much to do and he is shooting he would let me come back and take over the camera! It hasn’t happened yet, because every time he is shooting I’ve been in an order or working on sports stuff. How cool would that be?! I would be really nervous, but to get that experience with seniors and get pointers from him would be awesome. We are shortening our staff, so the chance of me getting a free second to get back there and shot is starting to look slim, but I’m not giving up on the option.

I’m fixed on reading Harry Potter again. I forgot how good the books were. I love to read, and recently read a really good book, “The Five People You Meet In Heaven” It’s a very easy read, pretty sure I finished it in 3 nights, if I had the time I would have finished it in a sitting. Anyway, after reading that book, it was hard to find one that really sparked my interest. I had started a few, but it just wasn’t giving me what I was looking for. So when I saw the preview for the new Harry Potter movie (coming out in Nov.) I figured that I should probably start reading them again to refresh my memory. Now, I can’t put them down…second time this has happened to me lol. I was one of those people that doubted the hype everyone was putting into them, but when I read them in college I was wrong. I will not, however, get into the Twilight books. lol

I will leave you with a picture Joel took of me, on his phone, on the 4th of July. I was trying to light all the sparklers left that I designed into a firework. lol

Joel and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary this weekend! We went on a little getaway. Friday night we had dinner with Jon and Caddie and the 2 of us headed down to Anderson for the night. Saturday we started off the morning running Pound The Pavement in Pendleton. After the 5k we were on our way to French Lick. It was a 3 hour drive from Pendleton, so we took a little break an hour and half in and visited the Oliver Winery in Bloomington. Oliver Wine is one of my favorites. They had free wine tasting and free tours. I found a new favorite, Blackberry. They don’t sell it in stores, so we picked up a few bottles to bring home with us. Joel is not huge into wine, but he did find one that he liked, so we picked up a few bottles of his favorite as well…they don’t sell it in stores either. It was a cool experience. I really enjoyed myself. Learned more than I thought I was going to. I didn’t really know what to expect, but I’m glad Joel had the idea to stop there!

After the Winery we drove the rest of the way to French Lick. They have two resorts, West Baiden and French Lick Springs. We stayed at the latter. We went and checked out West Baiden before we left, and it was really cool. The dome was beautiful!

Once we got to our hotel, we went and had massages and just relaxed. We thought we also got aroma therapy baths, but the package only worked for one person. So we opted for just the massages. We had our anniversary dinner ( a day early) at the Steak House at the resort. I had to get over the high prices before I started to enjoy myself. We had a nice dinner, huge dinner, but a very nice time! The hotel has a casino, and neither one of us has been gambling before, so we went Saturday night to check it out. I didn’t really want to play, but Joel was trying the penny slots and handed me $2 just to try. Low and behold I won $20! Joel only won $3. haha I think he was a little disappointed, or thought it funny, that I didn’t want to play and I won the most money.

Sunday, we had breakfast and went horse back riding! I have never been horse back riding before, let alone been on a horse. It was really cool! I was pretty nervous at first, but Joel told me that the horse can sense that, so I quickly had to change how I felt. My horse’s name was Cody, Joel’s was Star. Mine liked to stop and eat a lot. Luckily I was in the middle (our guide in front of me and Joel behind) so they both made sure I got the horse going again. After horse back riding, Joel wanted to try the Casino again. He played until he had only 85 cents left and told me I could spend the rest of it, and of course I won $5!

Needless to say, we had a great time and it was really nice to spend it with each other. My husband’s pretty great (:

Just to let you know what is coming in the next week (I hope). Our “niece” and now “nephew” aka Anne and Ray came on Saturday with their parents Al and Ebeth and “Uncle Keith”. Anyway, Anne went swimming in our blow up pool (not our nasty pond) and I had a mini photo shoot with her. So those will be posted soon!

Still learning how to balance 2 jobs and a social life. The 2nd job is getting pushed to the back burner this week, and I don’t want that to happen. I just don’t know how to keep them flowing at the same time. I will learn, with Gods help of course. Well, off to work. Just wanted you to know what’s coming and that Joel and I are doing great!

Brief update: Joel and I are doing well. Track season is coming to an end and so is busy spring season at the studio. We still have to get through the beginning of June, but the end is in site and some…I say some…relaxing can start happening. Last weekend we went to Ohio for my sisters college graduation party. I can not believe that we are both done with college. That’s crazy! We had a nice time. Lots of cornhole and some home run derby action. It was nice to be at my Ohio home. I am going back next weekend (for my 1st weekend off since April). I’ll finally get to go to a Reds game. I am very excited. Sad Joel doesn’t get to enjoy it with me (haha he is fine that he is missing it…he is going to Nationals for Track).

As promised, here are Adalynn’s 1 month pictures. She is so cute. I went to their house around her nap time…but she was wide awake! She was very good and loved moving around as if she was posing for me (: I had a lot of fun taking these pictures. Enjoy:

This is by far my favorite picture that I took!

Oh my has the days been flying by. I’m sure you have gotten tired of waiting for me to post something and have stopped checking…but I promise I will get better at this once I figure out how to balance everything! ha. To come, in the next couple of days are the photos I took of Adalynn. I am so excited at how they turned out!

Here is a picture of the Chicago skyline from the top of the Handcock Building. We went to Chicago at the beginning of March.

Here is our silly Kitty. She got into a plastic bag and was terrified at the noise it made. It kind of looks like a super hero cape. haha

We are still alive and well. We are both working 6 days a week right now! It’s a big change and after a month, I’m ready for a break…don’t get a free weekend until Memorial Weekend. Tonight I am going to take photos of baby Adalynn, Mike and Melissa’s daughter from my last post. This post will be short and sweet and I’ll post pictures of the baby hopefully sometime this week (:

I will get to Mike and Melissa in a second, but first to update you on us!

Well, sorry for the long delay on posting. Joel and I are doing well! Birthdays are next weekend. It’s crazy how fast March has approached us. I’m loving this weather though! Our pond has finally thawed itself of ice, and the sad thing is, I don’t think I’ll get in it. There is so much algae around the edges! The middle is fine, but the sides are just green. I wish somehow I could get in and out in the middle lol. Maybe by the end of the month the algae will make it’s way to the far end of the pond and then by the “dock” it wont be so bad. That is my wish haha. We have torn down the moving boxes that are in our screened in porch. They are still there, but we are going to use them for fires. Our new patio furniture is out in our porch as well. I would like to get out there and take a broom to it. The previous owners left a lot of wood/saw dust on the floor. So that is my next task as it gets warmer.
I start my new job on Monday. Say What? lol I got a new job. It’s full time at the Day Care here in Huntington. I will be a float teacher (which I think is better than being in one room all day). I will still do my photography job on Saturdays, and I will continue to do my Children’s Ministry job at the church we go to. I’m excited to get into a routine again. It has been awhile.
This past weekend, we went to Chicago for Copeland’s farewell tour and to take in the city. Copeland is my favorite band. It was a great concert, but I was sad to see them go. I didn’t take any pictures at the concert because my little digital camera has bit the dust, and most venues wont let you take in an SLR camera in unless you a photographers pass. I did take some pictures from the top of the Hancock building, and will post those next post. But to get to Mike and Melissa…
We met Mike and Melissa at church, and they are expecting their first child in April…daughter, name Adalynn Elizabeth. Melissa’s due date is April 2nd (I believe). So a week and a half ago, I went to their house and took some maternity pictures for them. They were great and very excited! Without further ado, here are some of my favorites that I took.
